THE GRAD: April add-on kit layouts

Hi all! Donna here, updating the DT blog for Ate Marisa :)

As the saying goes, it's better late than never. So here are the layouts and cards I did using the APRIL Add-on kit, The Grad.

THE LAYOUTS



MOVING UP layout
1. Adhere photos on the Aged Line Black (Adornit) pp.
2. Cut with craft knife some of the flourishes/swirls to overlap some of the photos' corners.
3. Embellish with Kaiser Craft black rhinestones,"diploma" 3D sticker and Prima flowers.
4. Adhere chipboard alphas. Ink the alphas with gold ink.
5. Write journaling.

THE GRADUATES
1. Scallop the edges of the Bazzill Raven cs.
2. Cut 6"x10" of Hanging The Tassel (Adornit) pp and the topmost (striped part) of the Graduates (Adornit) pp. Adhere as seen in the layout.
3. Adhere photos and title.
4. Write journaling.

Congratulations, graduate (8x8)
1. Cut Bazzill Kraft cs in 8x8. Ink the edges with Chestnut Roan and stamp with gold ink.
2. Cut 6"x7" Hanging The Tassel (Adornit) pp, ink the edges with Chestnut Roan and gold ink. Adhere in center of Kraft cs. Also, cut and ink the edges of the cap/tassel/diploma image, this will serve as the title of the layout.
3. Cut 2"x8" Graduates (Adornit) pp, ink edges and adhere as seen in layout. Adhere photo and the "title".
4. Write journaling on a 2"x2.5" Bazzill Lily White cs. Stamp one of the Flea Market Finds Stamp (Technique Tuesday) with gold ink. Adhere as seen in layout. Embellish with Graduation Sandylion Essentials.
5. Cut word strips from Graduation Road Map (Adornit) pp, ink edges and adhere in layout.
6. Finish off with an Off White Fringe (Cheep Trims).

THE CARDS



Congratulations! (card 1)
1. Cut 4.5"x11" Bazzill Lily white. Score and fold in half.
2. Cut 4.5"x5.5" Graduates (Adornit) pp and adhere in front of card. Cut 3 pcs 1.5"x2" Graduation Road Map (Adornit) pp. Ink edges and adhere as seen in card.
3. Stamp the Flea Market Finds Stamp (Technique Tuesday), cut and use foam/pop dots to adhere in card.
4. Write sentiment on Bazzill Lily white cs and cut. Use foam/pop dots to add dimension.
5. Adhere black Graduation (Sandylion Essentials) cap.
Envelope:
Design flap with Graduation Road Map (Adornit) pp


CONGRATS! (card 2)
1. Cut 4.5"x11" Bazzill Lily white cs. Score and fold in half.
2. Cut 4.5"x5.5" Graduates (Adornit) pp and adhere.
3. Cut 2"x5.5" Hanging the Tassel (Adornit) pp and adhere.
4. Use sticker alphas for your sentiment and embellish with Black Lace Ribbon (Prima).
Envelope: Add interest to envelope by using a portion of the Graduates (Adornit) pp on the flap.

HAPPY GRADUATION mini-card
1. Cut 4"x4" Bazzill Kraft cs, round two corners.
2. Cut 3.5"x3.5" Graduation Road Map (Adornit) pp, corner round and ink edges.
3. Cut 2"x3" Graduates (Adornit) pp and adhere vertically as seen in card.
3. Embellish with Black Lace Ribbon (Prima), Off White Fringe (Cheep Trims), stamped "happy graduation" words and Flea Market Finds (Technique Tuesday) swirl, flowers and Kaiser craft rhinestones.

You are amazing mini-card
1. Cut 4"x4" Bazzill Kraft cs, ink edges.
2. Cut 2"x4" Graduates (Adornit) pp and adhere vertically as seen in card. Cut 1.5"x4" Graduation Road Map (Adornit) pp and adhere across card.
3. Embellish with Black Lace Ribbon (Prima), rubon, flowers and Kaiser craft rhinestone.


CONGRATULATIONS! (with Happy Graduation tag) mini-card
1. Cut 4x4 Bazzill Kraft cs and 3.5x3.5 Graduatin Road Map pp, corner round. Adhere latter to base cs.
2. Cut 1x4 Graduates (Adornit) pp adhere across the card. Embellish with sentiment on Lily white cs, Black Lace (prima) and flowers with rhinestone.
3. Cut 3x5 Bazzill Lily white and make pouch. You can place a "monetary gift" inside this pouch.
4. Finish off with a doodled "Happy Graduation" sentiment and a small pull tab.

Additional materials not in kit:
AC Thickers, Scenic Route sticker alphas, Prima flowers, Colorbox Chestnut Roan ink, Gold ink, White ink, Autumn Leaves (Rhonna Farrer) rubon, MM and Fancy Pants stamps.

DAWN

Aloha Folks!

It's time again to update our gallery. This time, we will showcase the talented DONNA ESPIRITU. Donna has been the Scrapbooks Hawaii DT for over a year now. She is one of the top finalists of the Philippine Scrapbook IDOL 2008. Donna is also a DT of My Little Attic. Her talent and unique style reminds me of Elsie Flanigan's with all her doodle work. Donna played with our kit, DAWN, and I'm sure you'll agree--she didn't let us down! :) I love the colors of this kit, truly reminds me of DAWN and all the promises of the day that awaits us.

Instructions:
"Just Chillin'"
1. Prepare at at least 5 photos (sizes varies). Crop your photos so it can fit in your layout. Corner round the edges.
2. Cut:>4-5 pcs half inch Wood Butterflies (MM) pp>1 pc 1.5 inches Wood Butterflies pp and divide into 6 pcs (approx. 1.75-2 inches each), ink edges>the edge of the Tree tops (Sassafras Lass) pp>approximately 9x8.25 inches Tree tops (Sassafras Lass) pp>fuzzy-cut tree images in Tree tops (Sassafras Lass) pp, leave the green part on most of the cutout trees.
3. Adhere the 9x8.25 inch Tree Tops pp, centered, on the Mustard cs as seen.
4. Next, adhere the Sassafrass Lass Tree Tops edge at the bottom part of the 9x8.25inch Tree Top pp.
5. Get the Wood Butterflies strips and fold it by pleating. Adhere as seen in the image. I use double-sided tape when I do pleats.
6. Arrange your photos, centered, overlapping each other. Adhere alphas stickers for your title.
7. Arrange and adhere the tree cutouts as seen in the image, use foam tape on the other cutouts (w/out green edge) to add dimension.
8. Get the 6 pcs strips of Woodland butterflies pp and staple it criss-cross as seen in the image.
9. Doodle around the edges of the 9x8.25 pp, around the photos and add your journaling.
10. Tear (some) around the base cardstock and use staple wires to "accent" it.

"All About You"
First and foremost, cut the Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie) pp in half.
1. The sizes of the photos used in this layout are 3.5x3.5 and 2x2 inches.2. Cut:> 2 (pcs) 1.5 inches MM Brocade pp, cut free-style scallops (or you may use your desired border puncher) and ink edges with Chestnut brown Colorbox ink.> 2 (pcs) half inch MM Brocade pp and ink the edges as well, pleat.> fuzzy cut flowers and leaves in Smitten Floral (Bo Bunny) pp> cut 1 pc 3x4.25 inches and 1 pc 3x2.25 inches of Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie)
3. Adhere the 3x4.25 inches Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie) in the left side of the Petunia cs and the 3x2.25 inches in the right side, approximately 4.5 inches from the bottom).
4. Adhere the scalloped MM Brocade pp (plain side up) as seen in the image. Place and adhere the photos, center the smaller one as shown.
5. Write your journaling on the MME journaling card, adhere right next to the big photo.
6. Arrange the flowers and leavees then adhere as seen on the layout. Embellish the center of the flower coutouts with some Kaiser rhinestones.
7. Use 2 pcs of the small eyelets on each Just Chillin Pink Glitter Ribbon (Making Memories), as seen in the layout.
8. Use the small alpha stickers for your title, doodle around the letters for a bit of definition.
9. Stamp around the Petunia cardstock with the lined dots stamp from Fancy Pants and Chestnut brown Colorbox ink.
10. Dot around the edges of the scalloped strip with Platinum stickles.
"Think happy thoughts"
1. Cut the Dainty Scallop (Adornit) pp as seen here and pleat. (insert image kraft and pp cutout AND pleated pp) butterfly images on the butterfly on the Wood Butterflies (Making Memories) pp random strips of paper (no particular size) on the Wood Butterflies (Making Memories) pp, Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie), Brocade (Making Memories) 4 pcs, 1.5 inches of the Just Chillin Butterfly Print Twill (Making Memories).
2. Paint the Kraft cardstock with a light/pastel blue acrylic paint, let dry then adhere the cut Dainty Scallop (Adornit) pp as shown (pleated). (insert painted kraft pp)
3. Adhere the strips of paper randomly inside the cut Dainty Scallop (Adornit) frame, then your photo. Place the two cut butterflies as seen in the layout and embellish with some Kaiser craft rhinestones. Set the two butterfly eyelets (or if you have a BIG BITE, much better) on the top corners of the Dainty Scallop (Adornit) frame.
4. Doodle a cloud image and the word "happy" on the blue side of the Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie) and cut. Doodle clouds, sun, the word "thoughts" and scallops (bottom part) on the Kraft cardstock and then doodle small clouds as well and write your desired words (mine are the words LOVE, being alive, friendship, laughter). Adhere as seen in the layout.
5. Arrange the alpha stickers as part of your title and embellish the dot in the letter "i" with a Kaiser craft rhinestone.
6. Paint (just lightly): > the doodled clouds with light/pastel blue acrylic paint,> the doodled sun with light/pastel yellow (first) and orange acrylic paints
7. Cut the scalloped bottom part and use lavender stickles for added touch. You may scatter light touches of stickles on the painted areas of the layout.
8. Staple the Just Chillin Butterfly Print Twill (Making Memories) on the upper left corner of the Kraft cardstock.
9. Write your journaling.

FOR YOU card with envelope
1. Cut 21.4cmx12.8cm Bazzill Raven CS. Fold in half.
2. Cut 10cmx12cm MM Brocade pp, adhere on the front panel of the card.
3. Cut 3 strips of MM Wood Butterflies pp, ink edges (approximately, 1.5cmx10.7cm)
4. Fuzzy cut some flowers in the Bo Bunny Smitten floral pp. adhere as seen in the image.
5. Adhere a strip of Just Chillin Butterfly Print Twill (Making Memories) and tie a knot in the front card.
6. Cut and pleat approx, 1.3cmx23cm Dainty Scallop (Adornit) pp. Adhere as seen in the image.
7. Embellish with Kaiser craft rhinestones.
8. Cut strips of MM Brocade pp and adhere to the envelope. Then you're done!

"Celebrate mini-album with a box"
Accordian album:
1. Cut and ink the edges:
> 2 pcs 3.5"x12" of the Chili cardstock> 1 pc 2.75"x2.75",1 pc 2.75"x1.75", 2 pcs 1"x2.75", 5 pcs 1"x1.5", 6 pcs 3"x0.5" and 1 pc 6"x0.5" Brocade MM pp
2. Score and fold the Chili cardstock into 4 equal parts (3x3.5). Adhere one end to another to form a 7 panel accordian album. Set aside.
3. Corner round the 2.75"x2.75" pc of MM Brocade pp and adhere to the front/first panel as seen in the image.
4. Pleat the 6"x0.5" piece of MM Brocade. Adhere. Embellish the front panel with a piece of Prima flower and Kaiser craft rhinestones.
5. Use the smaller letter of the alpha stickers for the title.
6. Pleat the 6 pcs 3"x0.5" and snip one end. Adhere alternately on the panels (upper left, lower left, upper right, lower left, upper left and bottom right side of the panels).
7. Adhere the 1 pc 2.75"x1.75" of MM Brocade pp overlapping the second and third panels. Adhere the 2 pcs 1"x2.75" on the 4th and 6th panels as seen in the image.
8. Fold the 5 pcs 1"x1.5" in half and adhere on the panels with butterfly eyelets.
9. Embellish the last/7th panel with a Prima flower and Kaiser Craft rhinestone.
Box:
1. Cut:> 2 pcs 4.5"x3.5" Raven cardstock> 1 pc 9"x1" and 1 pc 1.5"x0.5" MM Brocade pp> 11 inches of the Just Chillin Pink Glitter Ribbon (Making Memories)
2. Score the Raven cs as seen on the image:
3. Fold and adhere the scored lines to make a box. Do this on the other piece as well.
4. Cut approx. 1"x8.25" of MM Brocade,ink the edgesand adhere this around the bottom as seen on the image. Cut any excess Brocade pp.
5. Cut 0.5"x3.5" MM Brocade, ink the edges and adhere in the front part of the box cover.Embellish with a Prima flower, butterfly eyelet and rhinestone.
6. Cut 10" of the MM Just Chillin' Pink Glittered ribbon and adhere around the edge of the box cover. Optional,you or may not do this... set two round eyelets on both sides of the box cover. Then you're done...

Friends card and envelope
1. Cut:> 1 11.3cmx12.4cm , 27cmx20cm Adornit Dainty Scallop
> 2 3cmx5.75cm and 1 3cmx10cm Bo Bunny Smitten floral (these will be our make-shift "grass")
> 1 1.3cmx14cm, 2 14cmx7cm Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie)
> Fuzzy cut Bo Bunny Smitten floral (flowers and leaves)
> 1 19cmx26.8cm Chili Bazzill
> 20cm MM Just Chillin' Pink glittered ribbon. 2. Score and fold the Bazzill Chili cs at this measurement to create a tri-fold card:
> 8cm, 19.5cm
3. Adhere the following:
INSIDE of card - > 11.3cmx12.4cm Adornit Dainty Scallop (center)
> 1 3cmx10cm Bo Bunny Smitten floral "grass", bottom part.
> Some of the fuzzy cut Bo Bunny Smitten floral (flowers).
> Use friendship sentiment rubon as part of the message inside your card... Write the rest of the message as seen in the image.
OUTSIDE of the card - > 2 14cmx7cm Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie), on each front card panels as seen in the image
> Some of the fuzzy cut Bo Bunny Smitten floral (flowers) and the 2pcs 3cmx5.75cm Bo Bunny Smitten floral on each front card panel as well.
> Set two round eyelets for the ribbon
> Write front card message (I used "Friends are like flowers in the garden of life") on the 1.3cmx14cm Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie) - blue side. Cut each words, ink edges and adhere on the right card panel. EMbellish all letter "i" with Kaiser Craft rhinestones.
Note: Adhere only half of the "friends" strip so it will overlap on the left card panel.
4. Ribbon through the two eyelets.
Envelope
1. Score and fold the 27cmx21.5cm Adornit Dainty Scallop in these measurements:
> 12.5cm, 25cm (across 27cm)> 1cm, 16cm (across 21.5cm). Fold from the 16cm scored line (this will be the envelope flap)
2. Cut an opening for the envelope, approximately 9.5cm from the top of 21.5cm and 10cm (1.4cm from each sides of 27cm).
3. Adhere the folds to form an envelope (pouch) for the card.
4. Embellish with fuzzy cut flowers (Bo Bunny floral) and rhinestones as seen in the image.

REFLECT mini-album/journal
I was able to make this with just scraps from the Dawn Kit papers. Sizes can vary depending on how you cut the papers.
1. Front/1st panel is the Raven cs, approx. 9cmx12.7cm. Embellish with some fuzzy cut flowers and pleated strip of Bo Bunny floral pp and Scenic Route alpha stickers (reflect) matted with Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie) pp (blue side). At the back of the front panel is the portion of the MM Wood Butterflies pp (the negative part of the butterfly we cut earlier to use in one of the layouts)...and a portion of the Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie) pp.
2. 2nd insert is 2pcs of Tree Tops (Sassafras Lass) pp 5cmx9.6cm, adhered together and corner rounded.
3. 3rd insert is a MM Wood butterflies pp, approx. 9.1cmx12.3cm with 4.3cmx9.5cm Tree Tops (Sassafras Lass) pp in the center for journaling. At the back is a fuzzy cut leaves and flower (Bo Bunny floral) in the lower left corner and a 3.7cmx5.6cm Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie) pp (blue side).
4. 4th insert is another 9.1cmx12.3cm MM Wood butterflies pp. Adhere 3.7cmx6cm Tree Tops (Sassafras Lass) pp and 3.7cmx3.7cm Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie) pp (blue side). Adhere some fuzzy cut leaves (Bo Bunny floral pp) in the upper right corner. You can add your photo/s at the back of this insert.
5. 5th insert is another 2pcs of Tree Tops (Sassafras Lass) pp 5cmx9.6cm, adhered together and corner rounded.
6. 6th and last insert is a 9.1cmx12.3cm MM Wood butterflies pp, another portion for any photo/s you want to add. Adhere a portion of the Orange/Blue Circle Scallop Diecut (Moxxie) pp to complete.
7. Set eyelets in the upper left corner of all the inserts and finish off by tying a MM Just Chillin' BUtterfly print twill to secure all inserts, then you're done!
